Is RevOps the New Product Management?
Why RevOps is the Product Management of the GTM Era
🧠 The Hot Take
RevOps is basically Product Management… but make it ✨2025✨.A decade ago, Product Managers were misunderstood. You’d ask what they did and get answers like:
“They… manage stuff?” 🤷♂️
Fast forward, and PMs now have dedicated MBAs, clear frameworks, and entire LinkedIn ecosystems.
I know—my MBA literally focused on it.
Now take a look at RevOps. Sound familiar?
🔁 What Even Is RevOps?
Ask around and you’ll hear things like:
“Pipeline health?”
“Fixing whatever marketing broke?”
“Automation magic?”
“They just run Salesforce reports, right?” 😬
It’s the same identity crisis Product once had.
But just like Product matured into the dev-side driver, RevOps is becoming the GTM-side engine.

“What is it”
⚙️ From Chaos to Core Function
With AI agents on the rise and GTM stacks growing more complex, RevOps isn’t just a nice-to-have—
It’s becoming the operating system for growth.
The sooner a company brings in RevOps, the sooner they unlock:
✅ Clarity
✅ Prioritization
✅ Forecasting discipline
✅ Speed

If you’re in RevOps now, congrats—you’re early.
If you’re not yet… now’s the time to claim OG status.

Such similarities in what product was 10 years ago and what RevOps is today
1. It's not standardized i.e. people define it differently, with one of the key differentiators being level of technical competency (not saying that's correct, but that's what I've observed - akin to a technical PM).
2. If used correctly and introduced into the business early, it makes a tangible impact. Fast.
3. It promotes great prioritization principles and forecasting in the GTM side of the business
🔥 Nailed it. RevOps isn’t just tools—it’s strategy + systems thinking at its core.
